At Highgate Lodge our mission is to provide the highest level of care for all our residents in a comfortable, safe environment that is truly a home from home.

Rooms

All our rooms are clean, modern and generous in size with a touch of character. Rooms are furnished however you can bring along your own furniture to create a home from home atmosphere if you wish.

Food

At Highgate Lodge we serve a variety of wholesome meals freshly prepared in our first class kitchen facilities by friendly and experienced cooks and their helpful assistants.

Activities

We think that the quality of the experience is as important as the specific types of activities, whilst recognising that most forms of activity have psychological or physiological benefits.

Dining

Mealtimes are an opportunity for residents to socialise, whilst enjoying a nutritious dish of their choice. We cater for all dietary requirements, and if a resident would prefer something that isn’t on the menu, we do our best to cook it for them! Residents are invited to sit at our dining table, but some may choose to eat in their rooms at times.

Should assistance be required, staff are happy to help, ensuring that all residents enjoy nutritious meals. In addition to home-cooked, hot meals and drinks regularly served by staff, residents have access to snacks and fruit juices at all times.

The food at Highgate.

Our own qualified cooks prepare fresh, home-cooked meals on-site, using local produce where possible.

Our kitchen committee meets regularly, and is an opportunity for residents, relatives and staff to suggest menu ideas, and improvements to our dining service.

While we run the regular meal times in the dining room, residents are able to dine in their rooms, or request refreshments in between, if they prefer, and we can cater for most special dietary needs. Relatives are also welcome to join us for meals.

In addition, there are always tea, coffee, biscuits and delicious cake available for residents and their guests.

  • Cottage pie topped with carrot and swede mash (fortified with butter and cream) with broccoli, cauliflower and gravy.

Accommodation

Careful thought and consideration has been taken to offer the highest quality of accommodation within Highgate Lodge. We have ensuite bedrooms, each featuring specialised equipment including nurse call units, smoke detectors, temperature controlled gas central heating and telephone ports.

It is easy to make friends at Highgate and there is usually something enjoyable going on in one of our lounges. Enjoy the companionship of others or simply relax in the peaceful surroundings of your own room.
